Victoria Lynne Townson
May 12, 1956 – August 3, 2024
Victoria Lynne Townson (nee Osselton} was born on May 12, 1956 in Victoria, British Columbia. She was born to Phyllis and William Osselton and was raised with her three sisters Judy, Wendy, and Susan on Casey Street. She grew up playing piano and the trumpet and later taught herself the guitar. She met her husband Dan after she joined the 5th Regimental band in the artillery reserves.
His job took them from Victoria to Kelowna to New Westminster to Grande Prairie, where they laid down roots for good in 1979. Along the way they had three great sons Gordon, Sean, and Nick.
After arriving in Grande Prairie Vicki became a bookkeeper then became a Chartered Accountant all while raising the boys and keeping her husband in check. They also became very involved members of Christ Church Anglican where Vicki would occasionally provide music and lead worship services.
They both retired but unfortunately, Vicki acquired a brain tumor that they discovered in February 2024. Inspite of an operation and treatment the tumor advanced very quickly, and it took her from us. Her faith in God helped her through everything. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and generous heart.
She is survived by her husband and three sisters, as well as her three sons and three grandchildren Declan, Lachlan, and Isla.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life for Vicki will be held at Christ Church Anglican, 6610 Poplar Drive Grande Prairie on August 17, at 12 noon.
