Garage, pickup truck destroyed in fire near Huallen

A fire that started in a single detached garage at a residence north of the Hamlet of Huallen has destroyed a pickup truck and the garage, while also causing non-structural damage to the siding of a house.
At approximately 3:49 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, the Wembley Fire Department, Beaverlodge Fire Department, and LaGlace and Clairmont Stations of the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Services responded to the reported garage fire.
Upon arrival at the scene on Range Road 92 north of Township Road 720, crews discovered the garage fully engulfed in fire. The blaze had spread to an adjacent pickup truck, and was also melting the siding of the house.
Crews extinguished the blaze before it could spread to the house, and though some of the siding had melted in the radiant heat, there was no structural damage to the residence.
