Wolves female basketball team announce two new recruits

The GPRC Wolves female Basketball team continues to get ready for the upcoming season with new recruitments.

On Wednesday the club officially signed two new players for the 2018-2019 season as explained by Head Coach Mandy Botham.

“The first one is Heidi Derksen from La Crete. She is a guard and they just won the 2A girl’s provincial championship a couple of months back. The second one is a local girl from Grande Prairie and her name is Carly Rombs. She played at St.Joseph’s and she is a point guard.”

This brings the total amount of recruitment announcements for the Wolves female basketball team up to 6 for the upcoming season, and as Botham added more players are on the way.

“I’m still looking to add 2-3 more for next season. I am just looking for a very particular skill set and I haven’t found the right match yet. I am always travelling or on the phone when it comes to recruiting. I am hoping by the time we get to the fall all of the roster spots will be filled.”

The 2018-2019 season will begin in September.
