Three homes damaged in weekend Beaverlodge fire

Dec 18, 2017 | 8:12 AM

Three homes were impacted by the fire in Beaverlodge Saturday morning.

Beaverlodge Fire Chief Steve Rawlyk says the initial fire was in a house with damage to the outside of a home south and extensive damage to a mobile home north of the original structure.

“Crews were there around 4:30 Saturday morning. Crews were there until about 11 a.m. around then. The investigator from the Fire Commissioner’s office has come up to do the investigation and it is still pending,” said Rawlyk.

The people in the home with outer damage were allowed to stay, but the other families had to stay elsewhere over the weekend. Rawlyk says it could be weeks before they find out what caused the fire.

The fire happened at 7 Avenue and 11 Street in the Town. Water and ice covered the area with emergency vehicles blocking off 11 Street from 6 Avenue to 8 Avenue, but was opened later that day.
