Freezing rain warning in effect for Grande Prairie area

A freezing rain warning has been issued for Grande Prairie and area. 

Environment Canada says a “Pacific disturbance” is expected to spread rain and patchy freezing rain across central Alberta beginning over western sections early this evening.

“Precipitation is expected to fall largely as rain however the impact of rain falling on cold ground surfaces such as roadways and sidewalks is still expected to be significant. Conditions will improve late Wednesday morning as the system exits the province,” noted in the warning on the Environment Canada website.
