A member of the Grande Prairie Midget AAA Storm made the jump to the Western Hockey League last night and played in his first regular season game.

16-year-old Edge Lambert, a product of Grande Prairie, suited up for the Prince George Cougars Wednesday against the Seattle Thunderbirds and was on a line with Ethan Browne, and Pavel Azhgirei.

Lambert didn’t record any points and was a minus 1 during the contest.

Lambert is currently in the midst of his 2nd season of Midget AAA hockey and has recorded 13 goals and 13 assists in 28 games played.

He spent his first season of Midget AAA Hockey in Saskatchewan with the Notre Dame Argos where he racked up 5 goals and 7 assists.

Lambert was drafted in the 7th round of the WHL Bantam Draft by the Cougars in 2016.

Lambert and the Cougars will return to the ice Friday when they host the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
