Peace River Fire Department respond to structure fire Saturday night

Jan 21, 2018 | 8:15 AM

At 10:40 p.m. Saturday night, the Peace River Fire Department responded to structure fire at 9810 96 street.

On arrival, the garage located on the South end of the building was fully engulfed and the fire was spreading to the attached building which is known as the Crown building.

Fire crews tried to enter the Crown building, but intense fire and heat prevented any entry.

The rest of the building was quickly in flames moments later, and the is now completely destroyed.

No other structures in the area have been affected, and no injuries occurred from the blaze.

The cause of the fire will be investigated once the fire has been fully extinguished as crews continue to put out the final hot spots early Sunday morning.

We’ll have more details on this story as they become available.
