Two Edmonton women face child abuse charges

Edmonton police say two women face attempted murder charges after a tip from babysitter led officers to five children in a “shocking environment and physical state.”

Police say the five children all of whom are under the age of 10 needed medical attention and two of them were admitted to hospital.

The two women arrested following last month’s tip face several other charges including aggravated assault, child abandonment and criminal negligence.

Police say the children are recovering and are now in loving environments with lots of support
