Alberta Party candidates Meet & Greet tonight

Jan 25, 2018 | 5:48 AM

The Alberta Party’s leadership candidates are in Grande Prairie tonight following last night’s debate in Edmonton where a provincial sales tax was discussed.

Kara Levis says a sales tax makes the most sense to provide a reliable revenue source and get Alberta off the non-renewable resource roller coaster.

Candidate Stephen Mandel says any future government has to get its fiscal house in order and spend money more wisely before going to the people for more taxes.

Mandel also says he would take any sales tax plan to a referendum.

Candidate Rick Fraser says the province needs to focus not on taxes but on growing the economy which, in turn, would grow revenues for everyone.

Tonight’s meet and greet at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Center starts at 7:00 p.m.
