Local Judo Club members competed at the Sportif Judo Competition in the U.K.

Grande Prairie’s Sydney Kinderwater and Michelle Grisales were in London, England representing Judo Alberta at the Sportif Judo Competition this week.

Kinderwater captured a bronze medal in the U-15 -57kg category, while Grisales placed ninth out of 27 competitors in the U-18 -52kg division. Team Canada finished second overall with 64 medals.

There were 17 nations and over 400 athletes training and competing with Olympic Athletes and world coaches at the event.

The two of them each won a gold medal in Calgary this weekend at the Canada Winter Games Trials #1 and the Rocky Mountain Tournament.
