Rowney & the Penguins off to round 2

Sexsmith’s Carter Rowney and the Pittsburgh Penguins punched their ticket to the 2nd round of the playoffs Sunday afternoon thanks to an 8-5 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Penguins claimed the series 4-2, winning all three games in Philadelphia.

Rowney got into the line up for the first time in the post-season Sunday afternoon and played eight and a half minutes.

He did not register any points.

The Penguins will move on to play the winner of the series between Washington and Columbus.
