An ice jam on the Bearlodge River is being blamed for water levels rising.
In a media release from the County of Grande Prairie, they say the jam is located upstream from Township Road 720. They add that Alberta Environment and Parks is reporting that the water levels are consistent with the spring melt.
The County is warning those that live near the river to be cautious of rapidly changing water and ice levels as they continue to monitor levels.
There are also ice jam warnings for the Peace River area.
