Tory MP’s comment in the House on abortion triggers scorn of Liberals, NDP
OTTAWA — A Conservative MP’s comment about abortion on Wednesday in the House of Commons triggered a flood of criticism from Liberals and New Democrats.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ended an answer during question period by stating his government would always defend the right of women to have an abortion.
In response, Manitoba MP Ted Falk yelled out: “It’s not a right!”
Reacting to Falk’s comments, NDP MP Anne Minh-Thu Quach stood up to say it was “horrible what we just heard.”
