Irvine leading after Day 1 of Strathmore Stampede

After a two-week break following the Calgary Stampede, the WPCA Pro Tour resumed Friday night at the Strathmore Stampede.

Doug Irvine posted the fastest time on Day 1 of 1:15:12 edging second-place Gary Gorst by five-tenths of a second and third place Kurt Bensmiller by eight-tenths of a second. Kirk Sutherland placed fourth after a time of 1:15:50. 

Day 2 gets underway tonight starting at 7 p.m.

Racing runs through Monday.
