Marino has RBI in 10th as Canada beats Spain 2-1 at Little League World Series

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Joey Marino drove in Nate Colina with a single in the 10th inning as Canada topped Spain 2-1 on Saturday at the Little League World Series.

Canada (1-1) will play the winner of Mexico-South Korea on Monday.

Reliever Cole Balkovec earned the win for the Canadian team from Surrey, B.C., lasting one inning, allowing no hits and no runs while striking out one. Zaeden Pleasants threw 5 1/3 innings out of the bullpen.

Jordan Jaramillo started the game for Canada. He went 3 2/3 innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out five.

Ronald Vizcaino started the game for Spain, which is representing Europe-Africa in the tournament. He allowed two hits and one run over 5 1/3 innings, striking out five.

Toni Cortes took the loss for Europe-Africa. He surrendered one run on seven hits over four innings, striking out two.

Canada opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error allowed Colina to cross home.

Lucas Iriarte hit a solo homer in the sixth inning to tie things up for Spain.
