Horacio Galanti named interim City Manager

Sep 11, 2018 | 11:30 AM

Grande Prairie City Hall has announced the City’s Director of Infrastructure and Protective Services Horacio Galanti will be taking over as the interim City Manager. He will take over for Bob Nicolay who is leaving at the end of the month.

Galanti says is looking forward to the opportunity.

“It’s very exciting. Good challenge. I’ve been working for the City for five years, jobs in other municipalities as well. (I’m) looking forward to serving this role.”

Galanti says he has one goal once he takes over his new position.

“My main focus in the next couple of months in my tenure here will be the final preparation and delivery of the 2019-2022 budget, as we enter into this four-budget cycle. Administration is very busy preparing the operating and capital budgets for the next four years.”

He adds Council will be doing a full market survey across Canada as they search for a permanent City Manager but that will take anywhere from two to six months. Galanti says he will be throwing his name into the mix as well.

Galanti takes over his new position on September 29th.
