It’s a big weekend for Adrenaline Athletics in Grande Prairie as the club heads down to Edmonton.

Owner & coach Jennifer Lekisch revealed that the club could be coming back to the Swan City with some hardware.

“The Alberta Cheerleading Association is our provincial governing body for all-star cheerleading in Alberta, and annually they hold an award ceremony where other clubs and athletes are recognized.”

The club received eight nominations for the annual awards which include the club being a finalist for the Sportsmanship of the Year award, which is something their club strives for according to Lekisch.

“Our main motto is that when we are at competition we want to make sure we are cheering on our rivals. Showing them that we are cheering for you guys and that we receive the same sort of sportsmanship.”

Adrenaline Athletics nominations include the following:

Supporting Community Spirit
Sportsmanship of the Year
Athlete of the Year – Shaylynn Prince, Audrina French, Kalysta Marcy
Novice Coach of the Year – Alison Benson, Sydney Allison
Coach of the Year – Jennifer Lekisch

The award ceremony will take place this Saturday in Edmonton.
