Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure Sunday
Grande Prairie’s edition of the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is tomorrow at Muskoseepi Park.
Run Director Janice Lovejoy says despite the cooler weather in the forecast, they’re hoping lots of people come out for the local event.
“And raise some money for something that we hope will get rid of eventually, in our not too distant future,” she said.
New this year is the survivor breakfast. It starts at 8 a.m. The opening ceremonies take place at 9:30 a.m. with the running starting at 10 a.m.
Lovejoy says people can still sign up online, or come down to Muskosseepi and pay your registration and join the run.
Since 1992, the Run has raised over $430 million dollars in Canada for breast cancer research. Last year alone $17 million was raised and 80,0000 people took part.
