Movie trailer with home invasion being filmed in GP today

Nov 19, 2018 | 6:58 AM

Don’t be alarmed if you see some pretty extreme criminal like behaviour in the Swanavon area today – C.I.A. Solutions is filming a movie trailer there.

The filming will take place near Wally’s at 10022 94 Avenue.

“We developed a film called Lost and it’s basically showing how not every choice in life is perfect and we are focusing on a reformed gang member trying to get out of that life, but yet the life that he lives sort-of pushes him back towards it, so we’re just trying to film something gritty but yet educational,” explained Len Morissette, CEO of C.I.A. Solutions.

The scene they are filming involves a staged home invasion.  An SUV with five people dressed as gang members and armed with weapons will rush into the house.

Neighbours and everybody potentially impacted by the filming are being notified.

“If you see a crime scene happening and all the camera crews around you with vests and everything, don’t be alarmed, it’s part of the film,” he added.

The filming is part of a grant application through Telus Storyhive for an Indigenous storyteller grant that will be voted on provincially.

“So, we can actually tell a real story, with some substance, some grit to it and it’s going to be filmed locally in northern Alberta, so it’s an exciting film piece.”

Shooting for trailer is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
