Two Peace region players collide Wednesday in WHL

Nov 21, 2018 | 6:18 AM

The amount of Peace region talent in the Western Hockey League this season has doubled from a year ago, and Wednesday night two players will meet in Washington.

Blue liner Reece Harsch and the Seattle Thunderbirds will battle Tristan Nielsen and the Vancouver Giants.

Harsch, a Grande Prairie product, has 2 goals and 4 assists through 16 games this season as he anchors the Thunderbirds defensive corps.

Nielson on the other hand is starting to get familiar with his new team.

The Fort St.John native was a part of the blockbuster trade earlier this month which saw the Giants send leading scorer James Malm to the Calgary Hitman for Nielson.

Nielsen has now played 6 games with his new club and has registered 2 goals and 2 assists.

Harsch’s Thunderbirds host Nielsen’s Giants Wednesday night in Seattle.
