Kings & Jr.Canucks each earn a pair of victories to highlight NWJHL weekend

Nov 26, 2018 | 8:23 AM

It was a busy weekend in the North West Junior Hockey League as all 6 of the league’s teams took to the ice twice.

The JDA County Kings won both of their contests to improve their record to 5-10-1 on the season.

They trounced the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers 7-3 Friday, and then went up to Fort St.John and earned a 4-3 victory.

The Kings weren’t the only team to earn two wins over the weekend.

The Dawson Creek Jr.Canucks played a home and home with the North Peace Navigators.

Friday, they earned a 3-1 victory on the road in Peace River, and Saturday they blanked the Navs in the return match up 4-0.

The wins vault the Jr.Canucks into sole possession of 1st place in the NWJHL.

League action will resume on Wednesday night when the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers look to snap their five-game losing skid when they host Dawson Creek.
