UPDATE: (8 a.m. Saturday) Wolves men’s basketball lost 99-69 at Lakeland College Friday night, while the Wolves women lost 65-46.

The GPRC Wolves Basketball teams will hit the road for their final two games before Christmas this weekend against Lakeland College.

The Women’s team is still searching for their first win of the season and as Head Coach Mandy Botham notes, her club has been working on different ways to generate more offence for their pair of contests with the Rustlers.

“We’ve been working on execution of a things. The finer details. Getting lots of shots up. Lots of touches of the ball. Working on a lot on our offence so we can score more. We haven’t had a lot of high scoring games this year.”

When it comes to their opponent this weekend, Botham adds they will be a great test for her young squad.

“They are a really good team. They have a lot of veteran players as well. This will be a good challenge for us. They have three girls well over six feet so that will be a challenge for our relatively short in stature team.”

The Men’s team on the other hand is looking to build off their two big wins last weekend against Concordia which saw the teams record vault to 6-4.

The Women tip-off Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and the Men at 8:00 p.m.

The re-match between the two clubs will be Saturday with the Women playing at 1, and the Men at 3.
