MANCHESTER, N.H. — Tracy K. Smith, the nation’s poet laureate, is going to be honoured in New Hampshire.

She’ll be receiving the Hall-Kenyon Prize in American Poetry on Dec. 12 at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester.

The award honours the late Donald Hall and Jane Kenyon, married poets who lived and wrote at Hall’s ancestral home in Wilmot, New Hampshire.

Hall, who died in June, is a former poet laureate of the United States and a recipient of the 2010 National Medal of the Arts. Kenyon is a former poet laureate of New Hampshire. New Hampshire Public Radio is sponsoring the Hall-Kenyon Prize as a tribute to their works and lives.
