Storm start road trip with comeback win

Dec 8, 2018 | 8:06 AM

Last Saturday, the Sherwood Park Crusaders spoiled the mood of the Grande Prairie Storm’s Teddy-Bear toss night by beating the home side 6-1.

Last night, the Storm got a small taste of revenge, albeit against a different team.

The Camrose Kodiaks did score in the first period to allow their fands the chance to throw their teddy bears onto the ice, but in the end it was the Storm that was all smiles after a 3-2 shoot out win.

Trailing 2-0 after the first, the Storm got second period goals from Zach Okabe (15th of season) and Cruz Cote (10th) to knot things up at 2.

Scoreless third and overtime periods led to the shoot out, where both Okabe and Vincent Milot-Ouellet scored for the Storm, while netminder Kaeden Lane stopped both shots he faced.

Lane ended the night with 28 saves, while the Storm threw 35 shots at Camrose’s Roddy Ross.

The Storm continue their road trip tonight in Olds.
