Huskies vault into 1st place in NWJHL

Dec 10, 2018 | 5:34 AM

It was a busy weekend in the North West Junior Hockey League with five of the league’s teams taking to the ice.

The weekend was capped off with an all B.C match-up in Dawson Creek as the Jr.Canucks and Fort St.John Huskies played the 2nd half of their home and home.

Despite the Jr.Canucks getting out to a 1-0 lead early, the Huskies would respond in the final two frames scoring a pair in each period, and walking away with a 4-2 win.

Following the weekend sweep of the Jr.Canucks, the Huskies have now lifted themselves to 1st place in the North West Junior Hockey League with a 14-6-1 record.

Dawson Creek will be looking to bounce back on Wednesday when they host the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers.
