Poor road conditions in some areas

Dec 21, 2018 | 12:15 PM

There are some bad road conditions in the Peace Country after all the wind and snow.

Everything Grande Prairie’s Sheena Roszell was traveling on Highway 43 earlier today and told us the roads are in poor condition.

“We’re down to one land on Highway 43 and it is pretty icy, so if you tap the brakes you slide a bit.”

Visibility is bad in places as well.

511 Alberta says most main highways in the Peace are partly covered.

That includes most of Highway 43 to past Fox Creek. The stretch between Crooked Creek and Little Smy is covered. Roads are clear by the time people get to Whitecourt.

Highway 40 is partly covered all the way to Jasper.

Highway 49 is also partly covered. The part from Valleyview to Eaglesham also has poor visibility.
