Fort St.John product in to round 2 with Giants

The Vancouver Giants were one of the top teams in the Western Hockey League during the regular season, and despite a bit of a scare in the opening round, they are off to round 2.

The Giants completed their 6 game series win over the Seattle Thunderbirds Saturday and Fort St.John’s Tristan Nielsen was a major reason why they are advancing to the 2nd round.

Nielsen, 18, registered 2 goals and 4 assists in the series win for the Giants.

This included finding the back of the net in the clinching game on Saturday.

Nielsen and the Giants will have some time off as they wait for their opponent in the 2nd round.

They will move on to face the winner of the Victoria Royals and Kamloops Blazers series which Victoria currently leads 3-2.
