Apr 7, 2019 | 9:29 AM

The Public Health Agency of Canada says the source of the bacterial infection from a salmonella outbreak still hasn’t been identified.

Sixty-three people in six provinces have fallen ill, including 18 that needed hospitalization.

There are confirmed cases in British Columbia (23), Alberta (10), Saskatchewan (8), Manitoba (10), Ontario (10) and Quebec (2).

Individuals who have become ill are between the ages of one and 87. Of them, 57 per cent are female. Those who became sick did so between November 2018 and March 2019.

Salmonella is a common bacteria that causes intestinal illness, with symptoms including chills, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever, nausea and vomiting.
