Anarchy preparing for 2019 campaign

The Northern Anarchy Women’s Football team are gearing up for the 2019 season which is just a couple of weeks away.

“We’ve been preparing since early February,” stated President and General Manager Lori Szmul. “We have been running practices and conditioning out at the County Sportsplex.”

Last season was a rebuilding year for the Northern Anarchy as they went 0-4.

The organization has been building up their player numbers during the off-season as last year they were pretty tight.

“They are much better than they were last year. We have had more returning players and we have become more well known in the community, so people are asking how to play and be a part of it. The numbers are up, but still not where we want them to be,” shared Szmul.

Another focus for the organization has been fundraising as they raise funds for the year for travel, hotels, and other organizational needs.

The Northern Anarchy will begin their regular season on May 4th when they travel to Calgary to face the Rage.

They will play their first home game on May 25th.
