Kenney appoints members of political staff

Alberta premier-designate Jason Kenney has gone back to his federal roots in naming a senior member of his political staff.

Kenney has announced his new principal secretary is Howard Anglin — who was deputy chief of staff to former prime minister Stephen Harper as well as Kenney’s chief staff while he was federal immigration minister.

Katy Merrifield, who was former BC premier Christy Clark’s communications director, will be his executive director of communications and planning while Jamie Huckabay will remain his chief of staff, and Christine Myatt will continue as his press secretary.

Kenney says in a release that the members of his staff will be a tremendous asset as his new government begins working on its ambitious jobs-focused agenda.
