City drug bust turns up fentanyl, cocaine, crystal meth and firearms

Four people have been charged after a drug bust in Grande Prairie last Thursday.

A search warrant was executed April 18 at a residence in the city and RCMP located four firearms, illegal drugs, and $6,500 cash.

The drugs seized included approximately 19 grams of fentanyl, 93 grams of cocaine, and 233 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Kurtis D. Haubrick (33) of Grande Prairie, Alberta is facing numerous charges including;

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Methamphetamine
  • Several firearms related offences
  • Possession of an identity document that relates to another person

Taylor Marie Leslie (23) of Grande Prairie, Alberta is facing the following charges;

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Methamphetamine
  • Several firearms related offences
  • Fail to comply with conditions of Recognizance x 2
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of proceeds of crime

Jordan Lynn THOMPSON (25) of Grande Prairie, Alberta is facing the following charges;

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking Methamphetamine
  • Several firearms related offences

Vincent Jodie HOOPER (43) of Grande Prairie, Alberta is facing the following charge;

  • Possession of a controlled substance

Haubrick, Leslie, and Thompson all made their first appearances on these charges in Grande Prairie court Wednesday.

Thompson was in person. Leslie was also in person but in custody. Haubrick appeared by closed-circuit television from the Peace River Correctional Centre. He and Leslie will be released on bail, if they can come up with $6000 cash. They must also abide by a number of conditions, including staying in their home if not at work, school, or doing things like buying groceries.

Leslie was also making a third appearance in connection with another drug arrest where she is facing 15 charges. Haubrick was already facing flight from and obstruction of a peace officer counts after an earlier arrest.

All of this is due back in court May 29.

There is no word yet on when Hooper will be in court.
