Jayden Linden, an 11-year-old St. Louis Blues fan from Grande Prairie received news Monday he would get the chance to see his favourite NHL team on the ice for Tuesday night’s Game 7 match-up against the Dallas Stars.

“It feels amazing to have a seat at the big game”, says Linden.

The young fan explained that he’s kept up with the team for about six years. He became a Blues fan when he first started watching hockey. “I just liked the team and I just started being a big fan.”

The St. Louis Blues posted a video of Linden’s reaction to their twitter account Monday morning and the video has since gone viral.

His favourite hockey player? Jaden Schwartz. The player who made his dream come true.

“My mom and dad surprised me. They were talking to Jaden Schwartz’ parents and they had a couple of seats available for two people, so my mom asked if we could go and they said yes.”

The Linden family has known the Schwartz’ for many years now, well before, “he was a famous hockey player” notes mother Lindsay.

“He’s my favourite hockey player. I started watching and saw how good he was and I just started liking him,” said Linden.

Linden has been playing minor hockey for four years. He is currently a left winger for the Wembley Wildcats and says he hopes to be as good as Schwartz one day and make the NHL himself.

When asked his predictions for the big game he says, “I think it’s going to be a close game for sure, but I think St. Louis will win.”

The second-round Western Conference semi-final series between the St. Louis Blues and the Dallas Stars is currently tied at 3-3. The Blues forced Game 7 after a 4-1 win in Dallas on Sunday night.
