Alberta Throne Speech promises

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney is promising to do more than kill the provincial carbon tax.

He says the upcoming session of the legislature will include bills to cut wages for young workers and slash corporate taxes.

The United Conservative government will reduce the $15/hr hour minimum wage for workers under 17 and reduce corporate taxes to eight per cent from 12 per cent.

Lieutenant-Governor Lois Mitchell laid out the new government’s agenda in a speech from the throne yesterday.
