May 24, 2019 | 2:36 PM

The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership says 576 evacuees from High Level have registered at the reception centre set up at GPRC.

Evacuees are being given basic needs like water and toothpaste at a newly-opened distribution centre, also located at the college.

GPREP adds donations are not being asked for nor accepted right now.

Officials add people at the reception centre can help anyone who had to evacuate with finding a place to stay, medical care, prescriptions, food, and other necessities .

All evacuees are asked to register at the centre. It is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The High Level fire has burned 99,250 hectares, an area seven times the size of the area covered by the City of Grande Prairie.
