Bear Creek Outdoor Pool Inching Closer to Opening

The city has been receiving a number of calls from residents wondering when the Bear Creek pool is going to be open.

Aquatics Manager for the City, Meghan Monette says crews are working hard to get ready for opening day. The goal is to have it open sometime this summer – but when exactly, they don’t know.

“We are busy purchasing supplies, working on recruitment and training and making sure that all of our new procedures compliment the other nearby facilities in Muskoseepi Park.”

Monette adds as soon as they have an opening date they will let us know.

“Just a lot of the finishing touches, such as making sure the staff are confortable with the new systems that they have in place, the new chemicals and all of our new safety procedures.”

When the pool does open, there are no current plans for extending the parking. The hope is a lot of pool goers will walk, bike, or take public transit to get to the pool.
