A select group of players from the Alberta Junior Hockey League will have the chance to represent Canada before the 2019-2020 season.

The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Friday, in conjunction with Hockey Canada, that the AJHL has been selected to compile an All-Star team to represent Canada at the 2019 Junior Club World Cup in Sochi, Russia.

A league-wide team of returning AJHL players will compete at the 8-team tournament which is slated for the end of August.

Along with the CJHL selects, club teams from Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.S. will also compete in the nine-day event.

Players and team staff members will travel to Moscow for a pre-tournament camp from August 16-22, prior to travelling to Sochi for the tournament.

The AJHL All-Star roster will be announced in June.
