Fire ban lifted in Grande Prairie Forest Area, still in place for Peace River Forest Area

The fire ban and OHV restrictions have been lifted in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

Alberta Agriculture and Forestry says the rain. higher humidity, and cooler temperatures has dropped the fire hazard to low.

Fire watchers say permits are required for all burning except campfires. Burning is not permitted when it is windy.

A fire ban remains in place for the Peace River Forest Area. The wildfire hazard there is considered high.
