County hosts Open Houses this week

Jun 17, 2019 | 11:40 AM

Today, Wednesday and Thursday the County will be hosting their 9th annual open houses.

Reeve Leanne Beaupre says the open houses are a great way to share information, receive feedback, visit with neighbours and have a chance to talk to council members.

“There’s also interactive displays and there’s opportunity to speak to the departments and ask questions, whether it’s around taxation, weed control, enforcement, public works, or what’s happening with roads.”

All three open houses will run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and include a complimentary BBQ and Agriculture Kids Zone.

Today’s is at the South Peace Centennial Museum, 2km northwest of Beaverlodge on Highway 43. Wednesday’s open house is at Whispering Ridge Community School and Thursday’s takes place at the Knelson Centre in Bezanson.

“Every year they seem to be more and more popular, just gives everyone an opportunity to come out and have a visit, and even see their neighbours, and get a chance to talk to their council members as well,” she said.

The County has created a public web map on their website for specific directions to each venue location.
