City offering free education sessions on opioid crisis
Anyone who wants to learn more about Grande Prairie’s opioid crises is being offered a chance to do so through city hall.
What are being called facilitated sessions will include videos on how this drug problem has impacted people and presentations on why there is a crisis.
The program services coordinator at the city’s Community Social Development office Jasmin Marshall says anyone can book a session.
“So far, we’ve done (an) open-door cafe. We just had a couple sessions at the library. We had one out at Teepee Creek last month, so it can be anything from schools to business, if somebody just wants to set up a session. That’s what the library did. They just opened it up to the public.”
