Public invited to share questions and concerns with Beaverlodge RCMP

Jun 25, 2019 | 12:22 PM

Members from the Beaverlodge RCMP Detachment are holding a town hall tomorrow.

The town hall is for anyone living in the areas of Beaverlodge, Wembley, Hythe, La Glace, Valhalla Centre and Horse Lake First Nation.

Sergeant Ash Browne, Detachment Commander for Beaverlodge says it’s an opportunity for the public to come and ask RCMP questions and voice any concerns.

“It’s about anything happening in the area, related to policing,” he said. “If rural crime and rural property thefts is something they are interested in knowing more about and what the RCMP can do, then we can certainly address that. I’ve asked for some of our crime reduction units from the district to be there, and some of our members, and I am sure they will be there and they can provide some information to the public.”

Browne says in conjunction with their annual performance plan, the Commanding Officer of K Division Alberta has tasked them to do more community engagement, so this is one of the things they will be doing to engage with the public.

It’s happening tomorrow (Wednesday June 26) at 7 p.m. at the Hythe Royal Canadian Legion.
