Fish and Wildlife following up after geese run over and killed on golf course

Jul 6, 2019 | 8:06 AM

An Alberta government spokeswoman says it has received multiple reports from the public about two geese on an Edmonton-area golf course that were run over and killed by a golf cart driven by an employee.

Lisa Glover says fish and wildlife officers are currently looking into what happened at the Sandpiper Golf and Country Club.

Glover says it is an offence to harass, kill or injure migratory birds under both provincial and federal legislation, and can result in a fine, jail time, or both, for adults.

Sandpiper Golf and Country Club says it is conducting its own review and that the person responsible would be held accountable.
