Man Van rolls into Grande Prairie today

Jul 9, 2019 | 10:12 AM

The Man Van is in town today.

The van is a mobile testing unit for prostate cancer.

Nancy Wagner, who is a Licensed Practical Nurse says it’s a quick, simple blood test that could save your life.

Approximately one in seven men in Alberta will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.

“So it’s very important to get it (testing) done. Prostate cancer, when it’s caught early is curable and treatable, but if it’s caught late it’s just like any other cancer and it can be deadly,” said Wagner.

She says the blood test can determine you’re doing well or you may need to see your doctor for follow up.

Men age 40 to 80 are encouraged to stop by the Man Van in Grande Prairie. It will be set up at AGAT Labratories (9625 115 Street) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. You don’t need an appointment and the test is free.
