Smith & Canada improve to 2-1 at Pan Am Cup

Beaverlodge’s Dani Smith and the rest of Team Canada’s women’s volleyball team improved to 2-1 at the Pan Am Cup Monday night with a win over host Peru.

They knocked off the host in three straight sets, winning 25-22, 25-14, 25-22.

Canada will now move on to face the Dominican Republic Tuesday night.

They currently lead Pool A which consists of Canada, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Guatemala, and Peru.

The pool winners will get direct tickets to the semi-final round, and the second and third placed teams of each pool will meet in crossed matches in the quarterfinals.
