Impaired Driving Bus yields big results in weekend initiative

The Mobile Breath Test Unit utilized by the Grande Prairie RCMP this past week yielded some big results.

The Impaired Driving Bus was used at four different checkstops around the Grande Prairie area between July 12-14. In that time, 1,519 drivers in total were checked and given a roadside breath test.

In total, RCMP released the following stats from those road checks:

  • 10 people were arrested and charged with criminal impaired driving
  • 15 people were issued provincial sanctions, such as a 24-hour driving suspension
  • 3 people were screened for possible drug impaired driving
  • 30 provincial violation tickets were issued
  • 2 other criminal code charges were laid
