Mets advance to semi-finals to face Brewers

The 2019 Wheatbelt Baseball League playoffs kicked off in Manning Monday night as the Mets hosted the Grimshaw Huskies in the one-game wildcard match-up to see who would earn the 4th and final spot in the league semi-finals.

It was a pitcher’s duel between the two clubs, but when all was said and done it was the hometown Mets who earned a 2-1 win.

Manning will now advance to the next round of the playoffs where they will meet the County Brewers.

No schedule has been released at the time of this story for the best-of-five series.

Meanwhile in the other semi, the Peace River Stampeders will host the Rycroft Rage in Game 1 of the series Wednesday night.
