Bandaged Paws celebrates grand opening of new location Saturday

Jul 26, 2019 | 11:27 AM

Grand opening celebrations are taking place tomorrow (July 27) at the new Bandaged Paws facility.

Danika Kalmbach, Financial Coordinator for Bandaged Paws says they took over the old SPCA building at the end of May.

“We moved into the facility and since then we have been trying to get everything organized and up and running. There was a lot of stuff left over here to sort through and we wanted to arrange it how we want our facility to run. So, we have been working on that so far and we do have animals in here that we have been taking care of as well along side organizing everything.”

Kalmbach says financially, their organization is still on track, but they are always looking for room sponsors, kennel sponsors, and annual sponsors.

There are over 100 animals including cats and dogs at the facility now. They are currently at capacity for cats and close to capacity for dogs.

“A lot of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, which is how we want it. It’s a better situation for them. We don’t have as many dogs in here, but our foster homes are full.”

More information regarding their sponsorship opportunities and pets up for adoption can can be found on their Facebook page (Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association).

They also have a separate Facebook page (Bandaged Paws volunteers) specific to volunteer opportunities.

People will be able to learn about adoption opportunities tomorrow at the grand opening. It goes from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will also be kids’ games and a BBQ.

“We’re excited to be opening finally on Saturday and we hope it’s a good day to have everybody out.”
