Edmonton police say 72 dogs have been seized from an alleged puppy mill.
Investigators say the dogs, most of them Havanese puppies, showed signs of severe neglect and possible illness when they were found Sunday at a rural property on the northeast edge of the city.
They received tips from several people who had been looking to purchase puppies, as they were posted for sale online.
Police say some of the dogs were hidden inside a closet and beneath a hutch in the home.
