Lights begin WCBA Western Championship in Red Deer

It has been an amazing playoff run for the Northern Lights U18 baseball club and their magical run is set to continue in Red Deer at the WCBA Western Championships.

The last couple of weeks have been extraordinary for the Lights.

The ball club finished 1st at Tier 2 Provincials in Fort McMurray.

Then the following weekend in Sherwood Park they earned a 2nd place finish at Tier 1 Provincials.

Thanks to their 2nd place finish the club advanced to Westerns, which begins Thursday night.

The Lights will open the tournament against the host Red Deer Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.

They will also tangle with Saskatchewan, North Winnipeg, and B.C in the round robin.
