NEW DRESSING ROOM

Work Underway on New Dressing Room for Vipers

Aug 25, 2019 | 7:04 AM

Back in March the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers were granted $12,500 from the County of Grande Prairie to go towards a new dressing room at the Sexsmith arena.

Fast forward to today and the construction of the new room is well underway.

President Kelly Wilson explains how the organization has received an immense amount of support from the community to help build the new dressing room for the club.

“It has been a complete eye opener of the support we get from our community. People are phoning us to try and help us out and get this thing done. I couldn’t list off all the sponsors off cause I would probably miss some. There have just been so many.”

The original plan was to have the room ready to go for the beginning of the 2019-2020 season.

Unfortunately, that won’t be the case.

“We got off to a slow start just trying to get all of the permits in place. We were aiming for that, but now I have been telling people that we are going to try and get it ready for playoffs,” stated Wilson.

The Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers conclude training camp Sunday at the Coca-Cola Centre in Grande Prairie.

They will play their home opener on September 20 when they host the North Peace Navigators.
