Pirates Suffer First Loss at Fast Ball Nationals

The Grande Prairie Pirates suffered their first loss Friday night at the 2019 Canadian Men’s Fast Pitch Championships at South Bear Creek.

After beating Oshweken Hill United Chiefs from Ontario 9-6 in their opening game, the Pirates fell 8-1 to the Sooke Loggers from BC.

The loss dropped the Pirates to third place in round robin play with a 5-1 record.

They will face the Loggers again at noon on Saturday.

On the Masters Men’s side, the host CJC Master Pirates are now 4-0 after a pair of wins on Friday.
